Greetings from Spain with one Rickman !!!
« on: March 06, 2013, 06:52:50 AM »
Hello everybody!

My name is Javier and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I'm 24 years old and I'm writing here because I'm the owner of a Rickman CR 750cc with the Honda K5 engine (serial number: CB750E- 2419733).

So I have the cousin of your bikes  ;D

Yesterday, I discovered this forum because I'm looking for some information about my bike and in this case, about the Honda engine.

About my bike, my uncle bought it in 1985 in Barcelona and now, is stopped by more than 10 years and I must to repair it :(

Here you are:

Well, this is all... Sorry for my mistakes haha and see you in the forum!

Thanks for your welcome Steve! Your ex bike its a kawasaki?

Well, yesterday I went to the Honda distributor (concessionaire?) to ask about the pieces of the Four 750cc engine. The man told me that I must pay attention if the engine is the same as your bikes or maybe Rickman puts different pieces...

So, someone knows if the engine of my bike is the same as yours ??

Another thing, where can I guess the difference in general between my Rickman and the Four K5?

This is my engine:

That bike had a standard CB750 engine in it as far as I can remember.

"UK Pete" bought it from me (he has replied to your post on www.sohc.co.uk)

There were two distinct models:
Orange with wire wheels and single seat
Black with cast wheels and dual seat

.. probably other differences too.

Ok, thanks Steve
As soon as possible I will tell the possible problems that I have with the engine

Hi, I just now joined. I have a Rickman, too.  It looks like the one in your "someday it'll look like this" picture. It has an RC 4-1 exhaust system, though.  Also a nickel plated frame.
Welcome!

Stuck from sitting?
If so, I would put some MMO in each cylinder and let it sit. I could free it up and not have to break any gaskets.
I freed up a goldwing engine after about a month, in 5th gear trying to spin the rear wheel. Broke free and is a runner.

Welcome..............it appears you tie bikes to a truck a little differently. I hope it made it alright.

Your motor appears to be leaking oil from the 'pucks' under the cam-tower. Very common if original.  Yes, the motor is most likely the same as all others of that year............unless someone installed some special 'goodies' inside. I hope you begin a build-thread ............and please keep us informed.  When there is enough interest, the moderators of this site may want to devote a special folder for the Rickman specials.

Hi,

Yes, the travel in the truck was right  :)

I could open a new thread but now, becouse I want to "repair" the engine and have a legal bike (here in Spain we have the "ITV", its a kind of the "Vehicle Emissions Testing" in the USA but harder). So, maybe its a good idea to ask about some shops with pieces.

Also, in Spain there aren't pieces of these kind of bikes becouse they was very unusual and all the pieces are from import and the prices are higher than other countries :(
E.g. Fairing + screen = 280$ without shipping cost from UK

Are they rare over there?

Last time I was in Barcelona I saw a bunch of older bikes that looked almost new.

Well, is unusual to find international brands before the middle seventies because we had a dictature until 1975 and the international market was closed.
So, we could find most of Seat cars, or Montesa, Bultaco, Derbi, Guzzi Hispania bikes but other brands its a bit difficult (but its possible like my bike XD)
