Hi All
I thought I would share my ongoing skills at retaining a healthy, mostly happy marriage.
Today is our 28th so upon waking I kissed my wife,
told her I love her, etc etc
later,
dressed.
I allowed her to accompany me to the recycling center,
and the hardware store to purchase a few finish repair parts,
I saved her $ re: not having to call a repairman
(I couldn't save my $ as I do not have steady employment),

AND
as an added bonus
Told her I THOUGHT of actually doing the following;
wash dishes,
do laundry,
cook a meal.
(Over the years I have almost tried to cook, ie, only seem able to burn things to a crisp.
What can I say?
I DO have faults.)

Peace in the household is a precious thing to maintain & I find humor
cures some of the ills resulting from unemployment.

What did you do for your anniversary?

My anniversary will be coming up the end of June, never thought to take her to the recycling center or the hardware store......boy is she gonna be surprised this year! Thanks for the ideas. RB

My 43rd is coming up 6/4/. I going to wake up with the SAME woman I married 43 years ago.. I'm going to ask her to give me a foot rub or at least a 6 inch rub. then we'll go from there!!

Hello, I'll be coming up on 38 years on June 14th ( flagday ). Our success is that she is right, and I am wrong. Also she has all the money, that's why I married her.

A week from today will be 23 years for us. My grandparents were married 50+ years and as I was contemplating marriage, I asked my grandfather what their secret was. He told me " Marry the right woman." So I did. :-)
Also after a couple of years I figured out that even if I won an argument I still lost.

27yrs in October for ours even though we ever got married but we have a very beautiful 23yr old son together. I will never forget the first day I saw her standing in a door way at a friends house. She was friends with his sister. I'm glad I went to his party instead of another one I supposed to be at that night. It was truly love at first site.

41 years in August. Met in last half semester of high school. Both were dating other people. After breaking up with others we dated then married. Never looked back.

32 years in October. I have no clue why she tolerates a goofball like me, but I am sure glad she does. Met her on a best camping trip ever. We now have 3 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 9 bikes in no particular order of importance. Love that gal!

Ours was a 34 year relationship,married last 26.5! Wow,do I miss her so much and it's not been a week.Hug yours and be glad,Bill Met her parking my supercharged 750....she wanted a ride,what a ride it was!!

I dont like the endless bs associated with most weddings.. So we decided not to announce ours to almost no one...until 2 weeks before the wedding..including my parents. We did tell her Mom,so that she would be over here instead of inEurope where she lived.

So as a result my German wife , did not have her friends at the wedding.. So we had another in Germany and all her friends and family got to attend. First one in May, next in August..

Coming up to 46 years couldn't imagine that, all our friends said it would never last, her family wasn't sure about me, out of work, ex airman, much older, her mother was sure that I was the one that knew what evil lurked in the hearts of men my mother on the other hand was so dammed happy that I was getting married that she would have embraced my bride even if she'd been a Martian or a Cannibal. Humour helps a lot, getting the kid's out of the house helps, being supportive helps ( yes Love give it a try, you can do it etc). Interesting process, wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but what the hell.

Anniversaries are tough for me to remember. Although my wife has incredible date memorization skills, once we both forgot our anniversary, you would think that being the case, that we could just laugh about it over a belated dinner right. No , I was previously married on the same date, so I should be able to remember right?
It didn't make her any happier when I told her I never remembered it with the first wife either.

wife and i spent our 23rd on the 25th May doing absolutely nothing. kids were away and we spent it mostly lounging away, grilled steaks for dinner. it was nice just for the quiet in the house

40 this year. I'm retired, she still works. She's getting used to me again. It's much different with the kids moved out and me always home rather than working/commuting 10-13 hours a day. We weren't so sure for a while when we were both home full time.
She still loves a ride on the 750 and encourages me to drag race with our daughter driving. Guess I'll keep her around a while.

20 years with this one, though not married, living together about 19 of those.
My marriage before this one lasted 11mths................hahaha, 58yo and never had a wedding anniversary!! I'm kinda proud of that
