Sure !

The CB750 is my "dream bike".  First saw it back in the late 70's... (I was in grade school  ;D)   Was amazed by it then.... still am.  Thirty some years later I finally had some spare time and $ to pursue that dream.   Spent many weekends chasing all over the state trying to find a pre-73 bike, with little luck (if your looking for a "back in the day" chopper, or "custom" bike, let me know, I may be able to hook you up ;D).  One day the guy who sits next to me at work says he has an old "Honda something" in his shed that he'd sell me...... turns out to be a K2!!  "Just needs a new battery and some fresh gas"

Here's the rebuild info...  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=105097.msg1175009#msg1175009

Had ALOT of fun doing the rebuild (the candy gold, chrome and cylinder honing were shopped out),  but am having more fun riding it (little over 1K on the clock since the rebuild)
I'm REALLY hoping to hook up with the Godzilla V3.0 rally this year when it gets up here.
Living the dream!  ;D

(steps down from soapbox)

Name is stuart im 26 from Northern Ireland (part of the uk), i have always loved bikes but a quite new to the bike scene, my father in law have raced bike and sidecars all his life here in Northern Ireland the isle of man tt etc and he is the main reason i got into classic bikes. I watched the likes of cafe racer/ classic bike programmes and loved the whole scene of classic bikes so after months of searching cafe racers i decided to go with a cb550 as i loved the look and its honda as I've always been honda lover, also parts for them in the uk are easy enough to get unlike some others. I found this bike local to me after waiting around 4 months for one to come up as they are very hard to come by over here. This is the first bike I've ever built and the first bike ive ever owned. Now me and the father in law have a nice collection of bikes with this being my pride and joy

when i got it home from this

Four very nice bikes.

How bout some stories guys?

All through grade school and high school I had wanted a motorcycle. I was 18 years old
in 1971 and figured it was time to fulfill that dream . I went to my local Honda dealer and
bought a brand new SL125 K0.  At the time I just wanted a small dirt bike.
While at the dealer I saw a candy gold CB750 K1.  I was blown away at the thought
of a four cylinder motorcycle.  It was so awesome looking!  Little did I know then,
that I would end up owning one.

In the fall of 1972 I was cruising around and ran into a friend from high school who
was riding a candy gold CB750 K1.  He had bought it at that same dealer, so it was
very likely the same bike I had looked at.  He said he wanted to sell it, so I took it for
a ride and I was hooked.  It only had around 2000 miles on it and I paid him $900
for it.  I loved that bike!  I sold it several years later and have always regretted it.
A couple years ago I decided I would like another CB750, and that started the eventual
restoration of this bike.    Here is the link to my build thread:

Well here is the story on mine. It started out as a pile of junk. I bought it only because it had a kerker exhaust.

I fixed it up so my wife would have a bike to learn and ride on.

She rode it for a little while but it didnt run well enough for her so i stripped it down to build a cafe racer. I was going to do a budget build but after finding the fairing for the bike things snowballed and i decided to dump all my eggs in one basket. I sold a CB750 to pay for my tank. I then bought fixed up and sold multiple other bikes to help fund the build. I wanted it to be a unique build so i had parts made specifically for my bike. Tank was built for a cb550 frame. I sent the hoop on the rear of the frame to Wales so they could build the seat to match the contour. I took the whole bike to LA so the exhaust builder could fit the pipes on the bike. ( so anybody else who got a set of these your welcome. ;) )

I also did not want to build a looks only cafe bike, i wanted performance too. I was building a gentlemans express motor but after complications went with dynoman pistons, web cam, dyna 2000 ignition and dyna mini coils. Head was mildly ported and intakes  matched. I also added a dual disc.

Despite having parts made specifically for my bike, nothing was bolt on and go. Anything and everything has needed a tweak here a tab welded on there. I am proud to say that this is the first bike that i touched every nut and bolt on, all the way down to the gears in the transmission. Its been a 4 year learning experience with priceless information from this forum. Thanks for the help and thanks for nominating me for bike of the month.

The k1 and K2 are just like my dad's old bike and first motorcycle I ever rode on (and was injured by) so my vote's torn there.

Dad propped me up at age 2-4 in the seat and road me around the block (irresponsible 20 yr olds am I right?) then age 5 he parked it in front of granma's (his mother-in law) and I was out there playin' and thought..ooooh! shiny! and grabbed the exhaust still fresh from a rise and burned the shyte outa my palm...last time I ever saw the bike.  kids...mother in laws...am I right!?
