I'm not gonna do a build thread but I'll post a pic here n there along the way.
Thought some might like a peak at the rear wheel now laced up with the chrome spokes, new DID rim and black wrinkle paint next to the mongrel front one to show how they were when I got the basket case in March. Front hub is being painted and will lace up in a day or two. The wheel looks way better in the flesh than in the pic. Bikes coming along. Working on my 4 into 2 exhaust, bought the Mac system, not much else to choose from, ditched the mufflers and bought a couple of Dunstall copy megas, nothing really like Dunstall but not too bad looking. Need to make up intermediate pipes from headers 2" to muffler 1 1/2" and get chromed. Also need to get some 3mm steel plate n make up the muffler mounts. Motor's in the frame and lookin good.

Well I finally rebuilt the gauges, I got new crimp rings, man if there's an easy way to do them I'd like to know, anyway I got em done in the end. Too much chrome is never enough? Inside I put green 90mm halo leds, when I get a battery I'll post a pic, bloody lovely.
Awesome routing of the brake line as well don't you reckon ::)

Beautiful work - keep it up! I expect you'll reroute that brake line. It was a bit eclectic for my taste plus there's opportunity for more chrome or at least silver braiding.

All done and rego-ed. A few pics to show how she ended up and a short audio clip of it running cold. This has the CX-1 cam, not sure if that's the reason for the rough idle, I have new coils on the way, pretty sure these old ones are iffy. Thanks for lookin. The audio clip is in stereo with a tad of reverb added, try listening with headphones. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12483676&q=hi

I just had a quick look around Braidwood on Google street view Nic. Nice looking place but 1200km away from me. Looks like an interesting ride down to Batemans Bay on the Kings H'wy.  ;)

Yes mate, great ride down the mountain but the cars >:(  Used to be good back in the day, it seems you can't go anywhere these days without massive car bastards. Oh and lest we forget the trucks.

Hi Nic, looks good. What kind of pipes are they? They look a bit "Norton Commando-ish".

Why did you switch the positions of the tach and the speedo?  Is your current orientation the correct one?

Looks good Nic, I'm not a 4into2 man either but that sounds great. I see someone asked about the pipe on your old Honda mate {the yellow pipe} looks like an old Hanco pipe, definitely not a Yoshi....... ;)

Hi Nic, looks good. What kind of pipes are they? They look a bit "Norton Commando-ish".
Thanks mate, the system consists of Mac headers  :-[ it's all I could find for 4 into 2, custom intermediate pipes made by a very clever dude, Raff at Fyshwick exhaust in Canberra ( see pic, before chrome ) and some mufflers off ebay.
The Mac headers end in a 2" pipe, this makes it a real drama to fit other mufflers to them.
I love the old Dunstall 4 in to 2 exhausts ( see my avatar for a genuine Dunstall exhaust ) and that's what I wanted here, I had to make up the two plates that the mufflers and rear pegs bolt onto outta 3mil steel plate then had them chromed, I fashioned the plates from a pic of the right side of the Dunstall ones ( see pic ) the left Dunstall one is much bigger to stop the center stand hitting the chain, I never liked the look of that one and I just bolted a short bracket on the inside of the frame triangle as a stand stay. I did start out with 3 Nortons, the reason I became a mechanic back then, if you owned a Norton you better know how to keep it running, then the Honda came out and the Pommy bikes died a cruel death.
Cheers Nic.

Thanks lucky, there is a lot of detail you don't get to see in the pics unfortunately but she comes up OK in the pics. She still isn't running right and it was a cold start so I didn't want to hit the revs, I might do another recording and mic up the starter next time, make it real loud and then maybe give it some revs, stay tuned  ;D Can you tell I have nothing better to do :o

Thanks, purple's not for everybody I understand that but I'm partial to it myself, this one has some micro flake in it but it doesn't want to be seen in photos, in the sun it's quite stunning.
Thanks to all for their appreciation. Nic.
