74 Kawasaki 250 2 stroke enduro
« on: July 17, 2013, 08:18:07 am »
got my hands on a  74 f11a Kawasaki this old 2 stroke is something else.. so im wondering what is the first line of action to get this running tip top shape? I plan on cleaning and oiling the air filter and setting the timing but what next I feel like theres a bit more power to get outta this thing and id like to find the proper tuning procedure..... also these shocks are shot... would an old blown (eye to eye) shocks off an xs 650 be too much for this?

On my old triple I usually removed the heads and cleaned all the carbon off, also out of the exhaust ports. Take the baffle out of the exhaust and set it on fire. Heheh, I even put fuel up the exhausts and set them on fire...only the once.
New points and plug. Air filter. Check the carb for aliens.
Nice bike, never seen one before.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Cool bike....I had the follow on, the KDX series.

Clean any carbon out of the exhaust port, the exhaust, and the muffler.

All the usual as mentioned above.
