I'm looking for an air filter for a k0 550k that can be used with the stock air chamber and stacks/boots, but without the air filter housing.

I already know about tintop's breadbox filter, but I'd like to try this first.

I don't understand your requirements. Define "air filter housing".

The housing where you put a stock air filter.

The chamber being the first (front) part of the intake, that attaches to the carbs with the boots that have the built in stacks. I want an air filter I can put on the air chamber.

i guess once you have your filter adapter on, you can fit any sized filter you need. i made mine yesterday

That top pic (on the snap-on stool) is mine Dimitri13. This is a K&N filter from an early GSXR1100.

Auto filters are too large for this application generally. Try a lawn and garden supply in the mower/tractor section. Maybe Tractor Supply? There is a large selection of filter elements in different shapes and sizes. I saw an oval filter a while back that would fit the oval opening of the chamber almost exactly. You would have to provide the end cap and mounting.

Thanks guys. I found the PN for the filter, but the bracket is what I need a line on. I'm not sure I'd be able to make one myself, and I don't see any on ebay.

And would a filter that size provide enough flow?
