Topic: Kick Spindle Pin

Gidday,

I am just doing my first CB750 rebuild. I am rebuilding a 1971 CB750 K1.

I have split the cases but have not been enable to remove the pin that holds the kick spindle in the case. Are these commonly stubborn to remove? Or is there a trick?

Very much appreciate any advise on this subject.

Hey there cakey, welcome to SOHC4. Got any pictures of your projects?


As for the pin, grab it low with the diagonals, rest the diagonals on the case, give them a squeeze to get a bite on the pin, press down on the handles and the jaws go up with the pin, maybe 1/8", repeat as necessary.

Will give a go tomorrow after work. It's 10.30pm here in OZ. it's real tight and don't want to do any damage. My other projects like my 75 gL1000 and my CX500 I had 2 or 3 donor engines and bikes but my K1 I have no spares.

Here is a couple of pics how I found it. It's stripped down now to the bare frame and parts ordered for the rebuild. I am not a mechanic(in fact I am a Pastrycook) but its my hobby working on old Hondas. I don't like to chase problems so I always strip and rebuild at the start. This is my first chain and sprocket bike so it's a lot of new info for me.

Worked a treat thanks Kevin. Just had to hold the other side of the case down with a block of wood and a c clamp so that I could get two hands on the side cutters. Came up easy.

Still no luck with the pics which is a pity as I am a pic a holiday on my projects

Yeh ok, might have to change them to jpg. at work to get the size down a bit. Thanks didn't read that about the size. I'm used to the NGW forum where I can post any pics off the iPad.
