Why buy clubman bars?

Why buy clubman bars when you can just flip yous stock bars upsidedown. This provides the same effect for free. Although your bar position is not moved forward as on the clubman setup.

because your handlebars, upside down, will hit your tank and crush your thumbs.

you're throttle and clutch would be on the wrong sides!
just kidding.

the pull back is better.

i just put a pair on yesterday.  the stock bars, upside down, will put your hands lower, but they're still sticking pretty much straight out.  with the clubmans, or clip ons, for that matter, the bars are angled back toward you.....much better.

as a side note, i thought my bike(cb400f) might be marginally more dificult to stear without the leverage of the stock bars.  in fact, it's even more flickable.  i think because you're putting more weight on the bars to begin with so lifting the right hand really makes the bike fall to the left.

plus, they're only $30-$40 for pete's sake.  and they look _sweet_

yeah they are better than the tank/finger smashing flipped stockers.

I'm even thinking of getting the $130 adjustable clubmans.

I have even used Flipped clubmans, on my choppers, kind of a modified drag bar kinda feel to em.

You could get a set of superbike bars and flip them, but if thats what u are going after you
might as well get some clubmans.

I like my $30 Ebay clip-ons...

MSRP for Tucker Rocky clubmans are about $21.  They'll put your hands right about where your risers are, or you can flip them and go a touch higher.  That's what I had on my Guzzi, but they just don't seem to work on the W650 (so I'm doing a little custom bending :o :-\ ;) ;D)

a little "custom bending" just caused me to order a second pair.  my buddy was a little overzealous with the cutoff wheel when making the cuts for the wires and now i have a little flex on the left grip.

oh well, at least they're cheap.

Not sure.
I bought them from a guy ,who bought them from another guy , etc...

I like the "bulkyness" of them, with the large pinch bolts and such...

I bought some British style clubmans from Carpy and they are way more comfortable than the 30 dollar ones.  These bars have a wrist friendly angle on them.  I rode the bike 60 miles yesterday and didn't have any issues.  The adjustable clubmans may be just as good, but they are pricey.
