Does one use gasket sealer on the CycleX MLS base gasket? I was going to call them Friday and forgot.

I would use Gaskacinch. Apply it with CARE to each surface then when it is dry slide the gasket on. Originally Honda did not have any sealer on that gasket.

I don't think its recommended to put anything on a MLS gasket.

Ken @ Cycle X told me to install his gaskets DRY. He also emphasized it like that too.  ;D

NO! It's already coated. It's not a standard gasket like Lucky may think.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Lucky How many CycleX MLS base gasket have you put on? Why would you go against Ken @ Cycle X. I have noticed when someone post a complete contradiction to yours you don't post back to explain. Would you care to explain this one? Maybe Ken will learn something.

Ron:
Curious, are the surfaces milled?
What I've been reading emphasizes PERFECTLY flat and with a smoother finish than normal.
I do not have any experience with them yet.

Yeah, except the cases themselves. All Mike Rieck's work. Very flat.

I'm running one on my 750. As others have said it is recommended to install them dry with milled gasket surfaces. Since my surfaces were not milled with a few light scratches I erred on the side of caution and used permatex  copper coat. Ive had no issues in ~4000 miles, but I am not certain it was necessary, and I do not know what the results of installing one dry on non milled surfaces would be. To me gasgacinch would not be a suitable sealant for an mls gasket, if one were to decide a sealant was necessary.

I have used 1104 (1194 now or Hondabond, Yamabond etc)on steel/viton coated base gaskets secondary to questionable surface finish and flatness. I had to do it on my FJ on the right side as the oil feed is there and I had  bad experience on a previous build. No leaking now. The key is to use a very small amount.

OK. I will use Gasgacinch (= HondaBond IIRC) per this post and PM. Around the oil passages, lightly. Maybe apply with a Q Tip.
