Boston to Cali cross country trip in about 22 days :)

Gonna do a Boston to San Francisco ride starting late September...would love to meet or ride along with fellow members along the way.

My bike is finally done and I am taking about 3 weeks to see some places I have missed across the country, here's my blog detailing it all out.

Keep me posted on your arrival. You have a place to crash and a hot meal/plenty of beer if needed.

Need a better, newer points cover gasket? How about rubber washers for the headlight bucket? Click the link below:

Will do! I land pretty late on the 26th and will head straight to VT to take care of some stuff but will b back in Boston that weekend before heading out.

In fact are you doing the Distinguished Gentelemsn ride on the 29th in Jamaica Plain? I was thinking of riding in that before heading out: https://www.facebook.com/Gentlemansride

Lets keep in touch.

Thanks,

cJ

Be prepared for snow and cold in the higher elevations of Yellowstone and Yosemite.  I was out there a few years ago and we had snow in late September.  Could be nice could be a foot of snow.  At that time of year it's a crap shoot. :-\

Appreciate the heads up...yeah, that's the one thing I will have to be diligent about is checking weather days ahead.

Alex, CJ is in Boston right now, if I'm not mistaken. How about you and him showing GZ around Bean Town before he goes into the dreaded box? 8)

If that's true then Hell yes! I was under the impression that he isn't here for a while...

CJ, I sent you a PM here with my email.

CJ, there are a lot of cool rider reports on the Traveler's Rest page. Ofreen's, Mooshie's, and Shenanigan's are all worthy of reading, among others. They will get you stoked about your trip. ;D This will get you started:

No he is leaving late September from Boston -read his blog in the link ;)

Should be a great trip! I did the same thing in 2001 also at the end of September. I rode from Boston to San Francisco via South Dakota/Wyoming/Idaho/Nevada/Northern California - took 12 days (~4000 miles). Then rode down to San Diego and beyond (round Mexico for a month). Did this on a CB750K4.

You are going to have a great adventure. Weather for me was very good at the same time of year - good luck to you! I have a garage and a spare room in Boston if you need a place yo crash - just round the corner from Alex/Crush.

cheers
Andy
