So, now that you did all that work for the clutch rod, I found that Ronnie's Cycle in MA has brand new ones in stock. I bought one but they said they had two left. 413-743-0715 is the number.

Getting everything together, all the Hondaman equipment and new running lights all seem to be in order.. go to throw some fuel in the tank to test for leaks, flow is nice, but all four carbs overflow tubes and the airbox overflow are running.. :(

Perfect fuel in tank

Perfect fuel in lines and filters

Piss from overflow tubes

Does this mean carb rebuild? or is there something I'm missing?
Hoping that them sitting in fuel over night might clear up what ever gunk is messing with the floats.

Pepcock was off all night and woke up to near a full pint of gas from the overflow lines... I'm at a loss and not looking forward to having to pull the carbs if thats the only answer.

shiiiiiit.

Owell. New flasher here friday.
No spark so far it seems and no headlight.
LED running, brake and (solid light blinkers) work. Can hear all the hondaman relays flipping when juice is put on the circuit.

Recovering from an abdominal hernia surgery so not much progress has been made.

I acquired an LED rated flasher unit and now have full LED running/brake/turn working, quite exciting.

Started to make the new inner fender.
I wanted to make a new one out of fiberglass, so I wouldn't have to cut the original up to meet my needs.

Pleased with the result so far, now to strengthen it up in key spots, cut the top half off at the mark and build it out under the tail, then find an appropriate gel paint.

I was able to test my repair/mini fab I have been dreading.
When rebuilding the handlebars, I stupidly lost the kill/run/kill switch copper bushing that sits above a spring to make contact with the board. I fabed a new one out of a copper washer I had laying around. Cut a small piece off and used some duck noses to flatten and straighten it out. Took a little fitting but i went together seemingly alright.
Today I was able to get under the gas tank and test the Black/White tracer into the coils and found that this little fab is in fact working perfectly. I was quite excited then quickly reminded that this now means I have no clue as to why I don't have a spark.   :/

I really am getting antsy to get this fired, everyones help so far has been invaluable.

What are the steps forward in trouble shooting, that I can take to try and figure this one out?

Hey all, hope everyone has had a good past few weeks.

i finally started back up tinkerin on the bike. Got to do some work with dad and now have a very strong spark across all four cylinders.  No fuel is making into the cylinders tho. So I reluctantly pulled the carbs today.

One of the carb synchronization springs snapped as soon as I touched the nut holding it down. Fabbed up another out of a soldering iron stand.

Found a couple of the main jets where completely blocked off.

Gave everything a soak and a scrub.

Now I have two more problems that any answers/tips on would be greatly appreciated.....

First, three of the four bowls have cracked overflow tubes.
Found this forum post, http://www.kzrider.com/forum/3-carburetor/512328-overflow-pipe-crack. Has anyone here tried this fix?

Second, I bought four carb rebuild kits, they are Keyster company and for CB500 71-73... But I noticed that the slow jet is a different size/different sized holes, but the same threading and both are marked #40? Is this of no consequence? or should I clean up and throw the original slows in there?

Thanks again for the help everyone.

Did you pull and clean the emulsion tubes? I don't see them in your picture.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Use the Keihin slow jets! Those aftermarket jets gave me FITS in my CB500 carbs. In fact, use ALL of the original jets and needles if possible. Make sure you clean the emulsion tubes. I would use the aftermarket gaskets, needle valves, O-rings and maybe the seat valves. Otherwise, the stock stuff is better unless it's damaged.

Make sure your in tank filter or sediment bowl filter is in good shape. It wouldn't hurt to run an inline filter for a few tanks of gas, but if the stock filters are in good shape, you shouldn't need one.

For the cracked overflow tubes, there are a couple threads on here with two different methods of fixing. Some have just soldered the crack with good success. Others have used a larger piece of brass pipe and tapped it down over the existing tube. I myself soldered my and haven't had a issue since.

That's todays project. I was getting frustrated and tired by 2am last night. Especially after realizing the slow jet and even boots were not correct.
Is there a safe procedure to removing them? I assume remove the top slide and needle and push from top with something soft?

They are in there good... No clue how to loosen them.

That's crap. Upset I got these keyster packs now. So I guess I will soak and clean the old slows, ever other part seems to match up dead on. I just restored the tank, petcock and have new lines + filters.

Seems to be the common answer is to try and solder. Guess I need to head down to the hardware store and see what my options available are. Or if they even have brass tubing. Do you have any tips on what anti flow to use to not have the overflow fill with solder?

Chopsticks are EXACTLY how I've removed them in the past! It's amazing how gummed up they get...and how much better the bike runs when they're clean.

The Porsche I picked up years ago from a client for $300 and a lil electrical work. Cheaper than the CB actually. It's a '77 ROW 911 with steel wide body and whale tail, 2.7L. Picked it up when finances where better, so the main project has been the CB.

Went out for a full day yesterday on the CB, guessing I need to invest in new friction/clutch plates as it slips under hard excellereation, high gear accel and is. Not happy around 3500-4000rpm.

Still tracking down the fuel flow issue and need to finalize sync/tuning, but got a nice quick ride in today to test the work I did on the vent cap.

Damn, if that is your property? Well congrats!

Nice video, bike needs to have the carbs synced and the cam tensioner adjusted... Clunky noise would drive me nutz but I am thinking that is most likely the carbs out of sync

The saying, "My family does well, I have nothing." comes to mind..
I thought the cam tensioner self adjusted? Is this simple to get at and do? I just figured its the horrid sync giving me that clunk.

What camera you use?

Cam is a Hero3Black 1080p@60fps. Using the Youtube video stabilization... only mount I can do right now is on the handlebars.
