"The Hulk" CB 1200 by Rapid Magazine Australia

So we got our race bike featured by the good people at Rapid Magazine in Australia. They tried our bike early this year at Phillip Island when the Island Classics was on (we got 2nd by the way).

Nice introduction on how the big bore CBs came about on this side of the world!

The bike has since evolved, as usual  ;)

Enjoy and let us know what you think. Next race is later this month in Tasmania.

Thanks! I thought it came our really nice too - bit biased maybe... 8)

Weight is around the 180kg mark wet, oil and half a tank of fuel. Weight distribution is pretty much 50-50. This is from memory, sure it can be 2-5 kg each way.

The bike never ceases to evolve. I believe we have taken the standard frame as far as it will go though.  8)

We are restricted to visually indistinguishable from period frames. In our case we would go with a stronger version of the original frame.

Rake and trails and other small changes are possible.

CMR do great work. All the USA team last year had their frames at the Island.

Dale Gilbert in VIC makes race frames, I've seen Pictures of his GSX1100 frames and they are very nice, probably cheaper than importing from Canada or the US, I actually know a guy in the US thats getting Dale to build him two frames currently, not for 750/4's though. Always wanted a chromoly 4130 frame made to my own specs.... 8)
