754 I remember sawdust burners in kitchens when I was young, centuries ago and the sawdust smell used to permeate the houses, in fact we had one in our old house in North Van that the dog used to sleep behind. I was to young to remember why we changed to stove oil.

Is it the kind where you load a drum with sawdust and bring it in and put it in a special stove?

Like this?

I know sawdust burners were common around here. We had an ASHLEY stove..I think it was called. We burned planer ends that. Dad got by the dumptruck load from the mill.
Us kids would stack it carefully in the shed, leaving a few spaces over the top to crawl over and hide in.In the winter we would bring the wood to the house with a toboggan. One time when it was about Zero or colder, I decided to try licking the aluminum tobogan...
..NOT one of my best ideas..

No 70cb750 imagine an old style kitchen wood/coal stove with feet and then imagine it with a square hopper attached to the stove at the side and back which is where the sawdust was put in. Ive tried to find an image on the net but no luck it may have been a BC thing although I would have thought that any place that had a sawmill would have had them, like Washington, Oregon, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and places like that.

I see, was it only for sawdust burning or wood and sawdust too?

It depends on what stove you had, it would burn sawdust, wood blocks or coal if you had the right one. Now this has to be from 40's to 50's maybe into the 60's and I find it a bit strange I can't find an image because I know they were fairly common.

There ain't gonna be no Corvairs in this family. When I wanted a late model 2 dr. spyder. Later he drove a corvair pickup truck. That's different, mine was free.

Yep, It looked like a van but the back was open and there was a curbside ramp. You couldn't get a lawn tractor in there unless it was very small. The engine hump raised the rear floor.  Once my brother in law left the engine cover loose and threw a chain in the back. The chain got wrapped in the pulleys, it screeched to a stop! He has an hour with a crow bar getting it clear. LoL.

Upon my brother not finding his $2100 worth of seven 1956 corvette hub caps under the workbench-  I told you to take all that crap home!

I knew it was time to run away when my father will say to me "you better grab a sandwich". What he meant was that he was going to kick my ass so hard that unless I had a sandwich with me I'll starve up in the air.
Also, "don't run away, it's going to be worst when I catch you", that one never worked. :-)
