for me the triumph bonnie t100.

for a while i was hot for the thruxton, but the more i convert my 400f, the less i want the thruxton. i still think it's possibly the most beautifull bike on the market, but i'm philosophically against it. (cafes should be under 600cc in my mind, and you shouldn't be able to buy a "cafe" bike.) like the scrambler too, but again a bit big for the stated purpose.

always been a bonnie lover and when the reintroduced them i went nuts. then the t100 sealed it.

I've had a new Triumph on my mind lately too. I'd be looking for a scrambler in red please. I just love the high pipes. It's one bike I think I could and would just leave stock.

I can't really justify the cash right now though. I need to just take a breath and focus on my cb500........

The Thruxton and the Bonnie are awesome too but the scrambler really does it for me.

yeh the T100 is pretty sweet.

For me is a BMW GS1200 right next to a Monster S4R...but does the list really ever end

Although the list is getting shorter every year of bikes I would buy. When will all this 45deg twin crap end

The new Bonnie and her assorted variants are also so sweet, as is the Daytona 675. The Buells are very interesting and odd bikes. I love the looks, like the ride, although it'd take a while to get used to. If I was in the market to spend 10k on a bike, they'd be on my list to check out, but at the moment the new Trumpets have my eye.

Well, I'll probably get crucified for this, but lately I have had to make so many trips to Lowe's for a home project, I could find my way around blindfolded. Anyway, I digress. On the way I pass the local Harley dealer. All neatly parked out front are their various wares, mostly the big jobs, full-dress and what have you. Among them is a very clean, unadorned yellow Sportster. Pretty nice I think, I'd take one.

Actually I like what they've done with the new sportsters. I wouldn't buy one but I do think it's a very nicely styled bike.

of all the harleys, the sportster's the only one i could go for. not hating on the company, i just don't like forward controls....at all. not even a little bit. could never bring myself to pay money for anything with them.

i thought about the scrambler lots (comeon, steve mcqueen!) but in the end, i wouldn't use the dual-sportiness of it much. i'd do much better to pick up something for some distance touring (more than the 400) and a used 125 dirtbike. plus i saw tom cruise on one and that ended it right there. couldn't imagine being at a stoplight and hearing "hey, isn't that the bike tom cruis----" [idiot drowned out by sounds of engine revving]

The Truimph Scrambler looks WAAAY cool. I would get one all decked out with the "Dual-Sport" options. It's just a bummer that such a huge engine (850ccs), only makes 44 horses. That's more than twice the displacement of my 400 and only seven more horses. Granted, the midrange torque is awesome, but if I really wanted a Scrambler, I'd get an old CL.

I would seriously think about the Honda 599 for a knock-around bike. Naked middleweight. Honda. Perfect.

If I wanted a big bruiser, I'd look at the CBR1000RR.

A Royal Enfield would be pretty cool for the weirdness factor.

and it's so damn heavy. can you imagine one of those in some sand? it'd be nice for 2 tracks, but that's about it.

i have 2 friends with cl350s (one in a box, one kindof running) and they are looking sweeter and sweeter....i think the "kindof running" one will be up for sale soon too.

True, true. For me I'd just use it for an all around street bike and the odd gravel road.

The older I get the less I care about horsepower. I've had lots of horsepower and frankly I'm a lot happier these days on something that needs it's neck wrung a bit to go.

yeah, i let a guy ride my 400 the other day. he never once got it over 5k and told me he'd have to let me ride one of his "big bikes" so i could see what it's like to ride something fast. when on to describe how each of his bikes (keep in mind i've never seen him show up on one) you just open the throttle and take off.
