Another fallen angel...
« on: October 07, 2013, 04:02:38 AM »
Yep, I did it. I fell for a CB550 and now I'm here, seeking guidance and support like a shaky AA member, ready to fall off the wagon.

In reality, I'm JD, from Bangor Maine, and I own a cycle shop (PanikSwitch Cycles) just outside of Bangor, in Hermon. I've owned a few Hondas, a few Harleys, a Suzuki, a couple Yammys..

I'm no stranger to the forum world, as I'm one of the founding members of MaineOffRoading.Org, where we all love to Jeep! It's great to see a forum dedicated to the Honda SOHC/4s. I just sold my 80 Honda CB750F, which was chopped, stretched, lowered, raked out, and just plain "ugly-fied". Now, I know there are a few purists out there who will chastise me for doing that...but...

I just purchased 2 74 CB550's, and am keeping one in stock form, while the other is undergoing a massive chop. I'll post pics as soon as I'm allowed to (rules state 5 posts first).

Thanks again for signing me on board, and I hope that some of our technical knowledge can be of some help...though it appears you guys already have some damn fine talent here already!

Cheap, quick or good. You pick 2. Not 3. Only the wife gets all 3.

Welcome aboard! You should start a build thread in the projects section of the forum. We all love pics!

Soooo...if I remember, I'll start up a build log tomorrow...thought things would slow down here at the shop over the winter, but so far, it's been steady. Don't get a whole lotta time to get on here to keep up with you guys. I'll do my best tho...   =-)
