I've got this aftermarket speedo that has all the indicator lights in it
  • ONE turn signal indicator light
  • Oil Pressure Light
  • Neutral light
  • Hi Beam Light

How do I wire this so the single indicator light works with both left and right?
For the record, I already tried to feed the two separate wires (orange and light blue) into the one terminal for the one indicator light... didn't work. My electrical expertise is limited, so I don't actually know the reasoning behind this. Anyway, just wondering how this could be done.

Without actually seeing what you have, I would say use diodes. You can pick them up at RadioShack.

the original wiring had both leads to the same bulb... don't see why this shouldn't work either. Is everything wired up as if ready to ride, or are you just trying one thing at a time?

If there are two wires into the bulb put one to each side indicator

Okay, so I set up three different configurations... Config 2 is the closest I can get to having this work correctly.

Configuration 1

Result:
Indicator light WITHOUT Turn Signal Activated: ON (not flashing)
Indicator light with Turn Signal Activated either direction: light turns off (doesn't flash).
Blinker lights WITHOUT Turn Signal Activated: OFF (position lights ON)
Blinker lights with Turn Signal Activated either direction: BOTH ON (not flashing)

Configuration 2

Result:
Indicator light WITHOUT Turn Signal Activated: ON (not flashing)
Indicator light with Turn Signal Activated to the side it's connected: flashes properly.
Blinker lights WITHOUT Turn Signal Activated: OFF (position lights ON)
Blinker lights with Turn Signal Activated either direction: Flashes properly

Configuration 3

Result:
Indicator light disconnected
Blinker lights WITHOUT Turn Signal Activated: OFF (position lights ON)
Blinker lights with Turn Signal Activated either direction: Flashes properly
