CB 750 four ignition switch
« on: November 30, 2013, 07:04:26 AM »
Found the original ignition switch for my 1970 K0  :)

But there two problems:

- it worked good for some times, I put some grqhite into it and no now it will not turn / is blogged
- does not keep the key. Key falls of.

How may I fix this?

Is there somewhere a specialist who may repair it?

Doc, I love a motorcycle!

Had that happen with my KO switch. Pull the rubber down and you will see a hole. I put some spray lube in there...not much. Just enough to slick up the contacts. Been working for 6 years now.

I had first used contact spray which cleaned the contacts so good I could not move the key. I put in some electrical contact lube. You will have to check to see what is available in your area. WD40 is a solvent which will displace water, not really a lubricant.

This is what I have used with great success http://www.whitelightningco.com/.  I live in the desert and we need a lubricant that does not attract dust, in fact ejects the dust as a part of the lubrication function.  This is the stuff I use.
