Huh???  There must be a stuck caliper for that much heat to be generated in a lap Brian.  How much fluid did it piss out the next time you were out?

On the plus side, it's nice with a sidecar to be able to open up the right side of the engine and not lose any oil. ;) ;D ;D ;D

That's the thing Brian. No excess fluid and once at rest for five or ten minutes it was as good as new.
With tape removed from the breather holes, no more problems.

Cheers,
Brian

Weird problem Brian.  Trying to wrap my head around the 'why'.  With the pedal removed there's nothing to create any line pressure, and move the pads.  What your describing is a heat generated vapour lock.  Are the caliper pucks retracting properly??  The disk(s) must be just about glowing red to create that much heat, and fluid expansion.

That's the thing Brian.
No pedal, so I wasn't exerting any pressure.
When the bike was at rest there was no drag on the brake at all, it rolled freely.
When we removed the breather blockage,  no problem.

Cheers,
Brian

A couple of pictures of the US sidecars.

I wandered down on my scooter to say hello but they didn't seem very intersted in talking to an old codger waddling around on walking sticks, so I left them to it. ;)

Brian, #600 yellow beemer was the quick one.
It doesn't look like the one in photo you posted though.

Cheers,
Brian

You should have told them they drove like the Brits play cricket, if they couldn't get by an old guy on sticks. ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Interesting re the yellow bike, as it's the same team that ran the green one I posted the picture of.  Must have a new bike.  The Vincent is the one I remember seeing @ Mosport back in 2010.

Re brake lockup issue Brian.  Only thing I can think of is you have a disk(s) that is/are running out of true.  It would be trying to push the piston back.  However, because of the sealed breather (no vent to atmosphere) this would prevent pressure release.  So the continual pulsing would instead build pressure until it locked.   Once parked the pressure would slowly normalize, releasing the brakes.  my .02

Stripped the motor down to pull it tonight but it was just to hot for me 41 degC again. :-[
Did find this in the sump though, so I know exactly what I'm going to find.
This is what happens when you try to run 125rwhp through a std box. >:(
The thing is I know better. :o
It's very hard to self administer an arse kicking but I will give it my best shot.
Then I'll install a HD box as I should have in the first place. :-[

Cheers,
Brian

There are couple of options Keith.
The Poms have a mob called Nova in England.
But I use heavy duty gears made in Melbourne down here for Rexy Wolfenden.

Haha, I knew Rexy would be involved. So not speaking for Keith, bit I believe we may both be in need? Which gears are available and what to you do to to achieve. H/D setup....besides $$$$! Bill had a Nova for short while, they're pretty pricey!

I only use second third and fourth Mick.
They set me back $1100 in 2009.
I've got a mate of a mate who cuts gears, reckons he can do them, I'll check him out.

Cheers,
Brian
