When things settle down and I get the other half home and settled it's time for a few more upgrades. Have all the parts to install the Arrow CF exhaust. Will need to remove the ECU and send it to Moto Wheels.  ;)

Only thing I'm not sure about is the immobilizer work. Will have to do some more reading on the subject.  ;)

Almost bought this little jewel of a ST3s. Just didn't want to tie up cash. Now that I have some cash flow back it's sold. Lasted one day on CL. Shown without side cases.

Oh well, leaning towards a Multistrada anyway.

A friend of mine has an ST3 -- fantastic bike.      It's got Termignonis on it and sounds fantastic!

I've ridden a few Ducatis, and really enjoy, them.   I'm just not sure I want to maintain one.
If I got one, it'd have to be one of the smaller Monsters (796 would be ideal), as I just love the exposed trellis frame, but, don't think I could keep my license with one of the faster ones.    I got a test ride on a Diavel.    I don't care for the style, but, it was a comfortable and FAST bike.    Really fast.    Definitely lose your license fast.

Maintence is really not that bad. Since Audi bought Ducati the quality control has vastly improved. This is for a new Ducati. Big bucks too!

From what I have read the ST models were prone to issues. Many issues through the years. The only one to get is the ST3s model which bring high dollar. Bigger motor, Ohlins suspension and Marchesini wheels.

I have read very little on Multi issues. Mostly all good. Can't say I like the design of the older MS models but a new Pikes Peak addition is 22K. If you can find one.

Very happy with the 800 S2R. Love the bike. A lot.

Just a reminder that this is Steve-o's fault. I haven't forgotten.

So, a new Ducati is coming? You bet and it should be a kick. 821 Monster. Must be the M796 replacement.

One thing to note it is rumored that the tank will be metal. After years of litigation and replacement costs Ducati said "that's enough!"

Unfortunately I missed the deadline for a free tank by a couple of weeks although mine is not that bad. Wouldn't make any difference after time but a new tank would of been a sweet extra part.  ;)

After spending a small fortune I finally went with M796 mirrors. Bought off forum for $35.00 shipped. I had to order 8mm clamps and mirror bolts from Ducati but at least now I can see behind me.  :D

New tires ordered, install this Fall. Could not resist the Memorial Day sale.  ;) Pair of Dunlop Sportmax Q3. Although mine look good they have a manufacture date of 04/05. Original I do believe. Time to go.

Still waiting on Arrow exhaust. I'm thinking they are blowing me off. Not happy about it either.

I gotta think that the 821 replaces the S2 and/or S4, and not the 796.
It'd be a shame for the air-cooled 2 valve 796 to go away.    I'd MUCH rather have the 796 -- much easier/less expensive to maintain than the 821 will be.

The S2R and S4R were discontinued in 2007. The article states this replaces the M796.

Ducati no longer sells an air cooled model as of this year. (maybe last year, can't remember.)

The 821 will sit in between the 696 entry-level Monster and the 140-horsepower bad boy Monster 1200 – right where the 796 sits at the moment. So without confirmation from Ducati, it seems the 796's days are numbered. That would represent a significant moment for Monster fans as the 796 is the last of the traditional, simple air-cooled Monsters.
