High temp clear coat for engine side covers?

I cleaned up my engine side covers and breather cover and clear coated them. I just used regular clear coat, will this be a problem?

Bad idea. They will most likely go yellow and will probably lift off when fuel/oil gets at them. Take off the clear coat and polish them. When you wash the bike just give them a rub with polish and they will not degrade.

Polish them and have them powdercoated with a Clear powder.

There's no need for high temp coating on those parts if using powder. Standard powder is good for spikes of temps to 500*. Those parts won't get anywhere near that temp.
