Dang, it's been quite a while since I've replied to this sucker. So going back to my last post, I found that when I was cleaning the accel pump I missed the o-ring which was my issue with fuel not flowing properly too. Road the bike for about a month, month and a half.
I believe the bike is lean as I'd get a pretty good popping on decel and a stutter on initial takeoff/acceleration. Since I'm planning on a K&N air filter and drilling the baffles on the 4:4, I'll probably go to a 40, would that be a wise choice?
I'm also in the process of converting the front end to a 78 GL1000. It's almost complete except I put a washer on the bottom triple so I can't get the steering stem threaded. Will be pulling the bottom bearing and removing the washer - really hoping I can pull it without damaging the bottom bearing.
Also hoping to replace the front wheel bearings this week, get the rear end apart to replace the rear wheel bearings and swingarm bushings.
On a side note, I wanted to work up my stock seat pan using the original seat mounts. The PO kept the hinges and the seat lock, but seems to have thrown out the frame mounts for the seat lock and hinges. Does anybody know where i can buy them, any recommendations on making some or does anybody still have the frame mounts they've cut off that I could weld back on?
Hoping to pull the starter out this weekend since I'm going kick only. I've removed the right hand control as I just shut the bike off with the key. I need to replace the speedo since it doesn't work...hopefully my wife will get a KOSO for my birthday next week.
