Author Topic: Didn't Realize I Was THAT Old!!!! (Read 2337 times)

This kinda set me back! What happened was my Wife and a close Girl Friend was over at the Girl Friend's Sister's Home visiting. Well, during conversation, I had texted my Wife a few times and after a bit, she asked my Wife who kept texting her? She told her that I did. Well, she knows about how old I am and said to my Wife, He can TEXT?

I mean, really? Is there supposed to be an age where we all of a sudden can't do certain things?? Wife told her, oh yes, he and I text all the time, saying she got me started and now thinks she created a "Texting Monster" LOL! But REALLY? There are some things I can't do as well as I used to and SOME things I just can't accomplish at all, without help. But "Texting"? Not A Problem here. I was just kinda put back by that and thought I'd share and see if there was others who might have encountered a similar situation? If so, let's hear it.

You think thats bad, my son got a roadrace set at 4 yrs old, I set up a square. With round corners and we had at er, and he was beating me..
When he was around 12 took him to a streetfair, there was a slotcar track set up. He was running against a couple 19 yr olds and kicked their asses..
Too bad he doesn't want to race vintage flattrack..........

My Jitterbug phone does not have texting BUT it does have really big buttons so I can see them.

Yeah, it really IS too bad he doesn't want to take up Vintage Flattrack Racing. If he ran true to form, he could kick butt!

I don't worry about it...i don't have a cell phone. And life goes on......I don't make fun
of how other people get information...I think it's common courtesy not to...

The people where my wife works laugh at her because she READS THE NEWSPAPER.

Thank you brother. I wasn't really worried about it, I was just taken back a bit, to think that some are That goofous! Makes Me wonder If She could chew gum and walk all at the same time! LOL! Laughing at your Wife because she reads the NEWSPAPER? Wow, Now That IS Idiotic!!!!!! Maybe they laugh, to put attention on her, because THEY can't READ!!! LOL!

I'm actually the oldest at my work out of a workforce of 35 people.....it's not that they are surprised I can text, or use the computer, or work the phones......they are amazed I've still got a pulse....

I'm actually a bit chuffed that they often say they can't believe I'm as old as I am.....in a nice way.

I hear ya, about them being surprised at how old you are, Been there. At least my Wife, StepKids and Friends tell me that I don't Act as old as I am. And THAT is a good thing, right? Now, I DO have one thing going for me, I may be 67yrs old, but my Wife I married 2 yrs ago this coming June 14th, is (Are You Ready For This?) alot Younger than I am. She is actually 36yrs old. Now, I DO get chapped when I am asked if my Step Daughter is my "Grandchild"?

But, I just tell them that she is my Step Daughter and you should see their expressions!

LOL! Thanks Mark, It took me a bit to get used to it, I have to say. I mean we get some looks sometimes. But hey, her parents and actually entire family have accepted me and say that I take care of her and the kids better that her ex ever thought about doing. I mean, even her ex's Dad and Step Mom are more for Me, than for the ex. Sure makes ME feel good, I can say.

I'm 39. So the kid I was working with asked me "how old are you? Like 50 or something" I told him I was going to kick his asss all over this boat ... and to respect his elders. He has a new respect for me now.
