Is that a tanuki?  ;D ;D ;D

No. My testicles are the normal size, actually. Except for that first week after I had the vasectomy.

nick,im glad the no gun thing works for ya`ll,that wont work by a long shot here.im assuming your police force does its job the way its supposed to be done, they are pro-active instead of reactive.our police forces here in the states are reactive, you dont see them until they need to solve a crime or they want to harrass you because of what you ride or drive or what color your skin may be.

Despite being undermanned and overworked the Mounties hereabouts are high profile and approachable. They only use their weapons as an absolute last resort, because (urban myth has it) if they un-holster for any reason the paperwork is stupendous!

That David is working for the government fer sure :) No not possum, some of us have to
do real work :)

Duster is right on the money, ours is a reactive police force instead of proactive.
That is as it should be, though from my limited experience with Canadian Police it was the same.
Only show up after the crime, anyway I don't know many folks who want a proactive police.
Most I know prefer to protect themselves and if need be call the Police to come clean up
afterwards. Most of the time the police will help you drag the body of the burglar back in the window
if he happens to fall out when that 44 slug hits him. Saves on the paper work :)
But what can I say, I'm just an ignorant redneck (recently labled the crazy Italian redneck cause of the
way I drive the I car).

Well gotta go out back and beat a few darkies, that's what we all do down here.

Rm - we can use "reasonable force" to protect ourselves on our own property.  Reasonable force has some looseness in it - my brothers neighbor  caught a man in his attached garage, put him in a headlock and then dragged his face along the stucco wall :o  The police looked at him funny but let it go.  Another incident at a  cabin in northern Sask. saw an elderly couple shoot a drunken local (not fatally) who arrived by boat and started shooting his .22, for no apparent reason, at the old folks. The intruder was charged, the cabin owner wasn't.

The  media outcry about Canadian guns you might hear about  are  the manipulations of liberal leftist urbanites,  mostly from the large eastern cities where the votes are. Gun ownership is a long standing tradition in western Canada. Its impossible to say, but there are probably tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of unregistered long guns here. Many people ignored the mandatory gun registry a few years back. Handgun laws have not changed much from the 1930s - if you haven't been in trouble with the law, it isn't difficult to buy one.    I like all my guns ;D ;D

What we do with intruders down here (It's called Home Invasion, punishable by up to 14 years in the pokie, but they never get more than about 18 months) is to put two slugs up into the ceiling of your home. "I fired off two warning shots officer, but he kept on comming at me". Forensics can't tell whether the shots into the ceiling came after or before the two shots into the ar*ehole nutbag who is in your home at 3 AM looking to kill you and rape your wife and/or daughters

Hey Toy, yea we got that home invasion law here abouts to. There ought not even have to be a law,
common sense would say, you come into my home uninvited and I have the right to evict you anyway I want :)
