No chance USA gets out alive, I just hope they prove me wrong or at least really get everyone to hold their breath.

Very excited, can't wait!

Jesus, how about that they may not be as much as an underdog as I thought. For some reason I thought that a bunch of countries were ahead of them like Germany, Italy, Holland, Brazil etc.

England have no chance.  Stephen Hawking has worked out the probability.  If there are PKs, it falls to zero.   :D

Yes, Argentina are looking a little complacent, I think the world cup also brings out the best in some teams, Ivory Coast did well against Japan yesterday... ;)

I hope you're right Flybox, but I have really enjoyed watching Germany put on a clinic in dissecting Portugal's defense

Didn't understand what went on with Portugal at all? Germans played a very good first half indeed, but this game was not up to Portugese standard. First the Dutch demolish the Spaniards and then the Germans just walk all over Ronaldo and the rest of the Portugese. Wish I could stay up and watch the USA play Ghana, but the time difference just ain't making it happen. Hope Klinsmann did a good job preparing team USA to win!!!

Well, Ronaldo is good, but he cant carry the team.  Injuries and red cards to the Portuguese side has to give hope to both Ghana and the US to be #2 in the group.
This afternoons match should be exciting.

why should the US be #2 right off the bat? Klinsmann was German national coach before, did a better job than Löw did until today, and his ego should drive him to push the American team to win. This world cup may surprise us...

germany always play well at the big tournaments but i must admit i thought portugal would have given them a hard game .
i wasn't going to stay up for the late game [ finishes one in the morning here ] but i think i will give usa a cheer now .
