78 750F compression
« on: June 12, 2014, 07:55:09 AM »
I have got this bike running somewhat. I can get to start when cold but only with starting fluid this after just cleaning the carbs. I checked the compression on #1 & 4 got 30psi on 1 and 90 on 4 then I put a little oil in the cylinders and got 94 on 1 and 210 on 4. Dose this sound like rings? It dose not smoke when running, and it has sat for some time but I do not know how long.

If the bike sat for some my, than my suggestion is to ride it and ride it some more.  The rings are probably stuck and the heat cycle can set them loose.

My K0's compression improved once I got it on the road.

+ what 70CB750 said

Mine is a 73 750 and it had 90 psi when I got it.  Got it hot and changed the oil.  Pressure was better.   I cleaned the carbs and changed oil again and I then got 150 psi on all 4.
