Sweet, Rotel made good equipment back in the day.

And we need pictures of course or else it never happened.

Noice.
You need to get one of those brute matching two channel amplifiers to really rock the house.
What speakers do you plan on rocking with those?

dammit I'm getting sick of hearing about all the great effing deals at the Good Swill Outlet Store.

All they have here is retail stores where everything is priced like they're proud of it.

Dammit gimme an Outlet Store already.

Aargh.

I made some in 86 like Klipsch 12 pyle driver with mid horn and horn tweets. I run a NAD 2200 now only a 2 channel amp and can also be a mono block.
I picked up some bookshelf B&W's years ago I might be dusting them off.
Starting to look like a great garage/workshop system.

I have never bought a 'new and improved' anything ! I like the older good quality things that're made to Last and I DON'T believe in making everything that's 'older than 10-15 years' obsolete !  >:(  ;)

The shop sounds come from a Sherwood receiver that I got at a yard sale ages ago. There was a piece of toothpick that had to be stuck in the Muting switch just so or you got no FM. Volume and balance pots extra scratchy and right channel would drop out unless the knobs were set just so....

Found a tiny can of DEOXIT and gave all the controls a squirt. Worked the buttons and knobs some and another squirt.

Let stuff dry for a few and hooked back up....

No more scratchy. No right speaker dropping out. NO MORE TOOTHPICK!

(the stuff works)

For balance and volume controls you would be better off using a product called faderlube that does not wash out the protecting lube they put on those controls. Deoxit clears all that stuff out and takes away the original feel and can screw them up sometimes.

if they're a little scratchy then spray just a tiny amount of de-oxit into there and that'll clean it up, w/ a lot of knob-turning to get it nice.  ;)

If I had a big can then we'd be in trouble.

As the Deoxit can was the 7 gram size, and I had to divvy it up between a whole mess of knobs and buttons, i wasn't going to squirt enough to wash out anything.

It seems to have softened the 40 year old grease in the switches as they don't feel as crunchy as they did and thankfully no more bits of broken toothpick to hold the switch just so.

If I screwed something up then I'm out a $10 yard sale brick. oops.

I'll keep that in mind next time around though.

Hey Dukie, Faderlube? is it available locally or only online ? I know what you mean about washing out the original factory special lube they put into the rotary knobs,I like that original 'feel' also.

It is made by the company that makes deoxit. Probably easiest to get it online.
