Since you are both using the emgo harness, where are you guys getting power to he taillight from? I had a thread going because when I jump brown to black I have issues with my blinkers staying on.  When the jumper is unplugged, my blinkers work like they should, but no taillight.

Installed lots of stuff tonight.

- Got the sprocket and chain on and adjusted and torqued the rear axle
- Installed the new seat
- installed the speedo and tach drive cables
- installed the carbs
- installed the coils
- installed the oil filter/housing
- soldered connectors to the rear tail lights where I had twisted some new leads on I stole from my junk harness
- Just for S&G's I checked the engine to frame ground - All good.

Need to figure out this wiring mess. Plenty of stuff left to do, for sure.

Playing with the wiring this morning...  disconnected the wire I thought went to only the tailight...but the tailight was still lit. Tried to honk the horn in the first on position and blew the 5 amp tail light fuse.

Gets expensive checking wires by randomly connecting and waiting for fuse to blow.

No secrets to wiring, just schematics and ohmmeter.

I have two wiring diagrams and a multi meter. I'm not randomly connecting things, I'm following the schematics. This harness has connectors on it that don't even exist in the wiring diagram.

Mine may not be an EMGO one Seth, it worked out perfectly and the only REAL issue there was, wasn't even a part of the harness. The K2 has a simpler wiring towards the rear, and only one oddity at the front, so overall it wasn't bad to hook it all up. Everything was accounted for except for the extra brown wire, which is only for the Euro bikes.

My taillight had always been working, I was dumb enough to not go behind the bike and take a good look. It is powered by the brown/white wire at the rat's nest, followed by the brown wire to the tail light, and these are connected THROUGH THE KEY SWITCH, so that connection isn't so obvious. The winkers, at least from my experience, its best to get them fully operational first then debug the rest.

I thought I had but this wiring harness is causing me hell. I have many of the same issues Rafi is having over in the ice cream build.

Turned out to be zero issues with the harness itself, the one issue was outside of the harness. So you're troubles aren't the quite the same as mine ;)

Save the ones that don't match up for the very end. Give this a try

Okay guys, I am going to be ready to fire this thing tomorrow. To get oil pressure should I just kick it over with the ignition off or should I take off the plug wires and just crank it for a little while?

Also, does it matter if the exhaust is on? I know it will be loud but any issues otherwise? I suppose I could install it.....

Better?

I have bottle I fashioned for the tank to get it running. My buddy who has had my tank for months was finally going to do it then his compressor (a huge one) fell over in his shop and lots of bad things happened... he told me today he's gonna get on it this week.

Kick it with key off, plugs out, and the air-box side tappet covers off, so you can see oil getting to the valves.

Today was my D-day to get the bike fired for the first time. After a few hours of doing some last minute junk (like remembering to install the throttle cables...) I am ELATED to report that THE BIKE RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
