Which way should this be installed?
« on: October 04, 2014, 08:54:22 AM »
Hey All,
I've looked through the diagram given with the rebuild kit but am unsure which way this filter should be installed.  I'm can't remember how the old one was in there and was wondering if anyone could help out.  here are some photos to illustrate what I am talking about.

I make the taps stick down to the bowl, I believe they are to grab it by.

Yep the way you have it then the gasket seal goes on next. There looks to be a lot rust on that old broken down filter, did I read your tank had been cleaned or sealed ? Kreeme I believe.

Yeah, the tank was kreemed last year.  I'm planning on adding some fuel filters just in case.  I don't want to have to deal with carb issues if I can avoid it.

Thanks for your help, guys.

There are threads on here both pro and con about fuel filters if you search. That nice  fresh brass screen filter you bought does a pretty good job when nice and new. Either way just remember to try and keep the gas flowing downhill to the carbs, gravity fed system.
