WANTED: Yamaha Pentagram wheel
« on: October 12, 2014, 03:14:14 PM »
Anyone out there sitting on an 18" rear Pentagram Yamaha wheel? Usually painted yellow on the inside (Honda wheels were painted red), it's an 18" wheel and is for disc brake.
Ya'll keep your eyes peeled for me, OK?

What years models did those come on?
I am older than dirt (according to my children anyway) and have no recollection of ever seeing those.

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Apparently Shelby Dowd made those wheels to suit a  Yamaha, not sure what model though...

Call Baltimore Cycle Salvage 410-962-1335. They have an extensive inventory of just about everything you can imagine.

I believe 2StrokeTrush lives nearby also and visits there regularly.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. After some more reading it seems Yamaha had Shelby Dowd make them as an accessory wheel for Yamaha, so they were actually sold as Yamaha wheels, apparently they weren't that popular so they canceled the contract to Shelby Dowd...Quite rare..
