Yeah, I should watch my generalizations. I'm glad your uncle got what he wanted. There are a lot of people out there who know the difference, even if they can't afford it or put thier money elsewhere.

Reminds me of the movie where the rich guy pulls up to the housing project in his BMW and the first raggedy kid he encounters tells him the history of BMW.

This bike is completely badass. I never saw the show, but if I had to wager, this bike got beat because of the hardtail. Sand's bike had a great suspension, so it could just waste a hardtail through the corners.

As you can see in the picture, it's only to be driven on a surface with a small layer of water on it. The lack of a front fender is intentional. This trows the water straight from the tire onto the engine.
See i know all these inside facts about secret watercooled engines, because "watercooled season" has just started here in Europe too. ;D

radiator is in front of rear wheel, I like the bike he was beaten because of a half hearted attemp going up against a bike with state of the art suspension, and double the cubic inches. I was glad to see something just a lttle different. If only it had rear suspension it woulda kicked butt on the flat track.

yup purty sure it wouldnt be rock proof, jezz i hate radiators on bikes , just doesnt seem normal.

Rooke's bike was featured in the recent issue of Robb Report Motorcycling. In the article it said that he ran it up to 120mph on the salt flats. Then shortly after that he took it to the drag strip and it ran 140 through the traps. That's hauling some serious ass. Maybe the salt was bad that day, or the hardtail didn't like the salt.

He may have had half the displacement of Sand's bike, but I bet power was similar, if not the KTM motor making more. Just a guess though.

I think Terry should try that trick with OIL radiators

Well that was kinda my point mate, putting a radiator behind an engine is a good way to warm the fluid, not cool it? (unless he rides that thing in reverse of course, ha ha!) Cheers, Terry. ;D

Didn't/doesn/t the new Benelli have a rear mounted radiator too? I seem to remember that it had a couple of fans to suck air through it. I've found a pic:

maybe well see it on the next episode of benilli buildoff,  now that would be cool. Is the benelli a P twin?

The air flowing across the radiator at that point is still a fair bit cooler than the fluid flowing through it. Should work fine, though a bit less efficient.
I mean really, with the radiator in front, heated air comes out the back of the radiator, meaning the engine itself is basking in air hotter than were it not behind the radiator.

Best option is radiators side mounted with scoops, exiting underneath the seat.
