Finally started back on this project. Motor built and cams degreed.

If you're wondering whats under that head and cams, those are 85mm pistons netting 1500cc's for this one.

Ran into a slight problem with sprocket alignment. I've got to move the rear sprocket outboard to line up with the 3" offset front sprocket. Need about .250 spacer to get there so I contacted a local fella today and dropped off the wheel and sprocket.  I drew up a spacer plate diagram so he'll work off my design and come up with a working part. I've still got a list of about 25 things to do still but its all little stuff. I'm pushing ahead daily.

I sympathize with you Frank. My F'n 1000 is being built from OLD spare/take off parts and I've had to deal with an offset. Just came in from the garage about 45 minutes ago. Plug away brother. I'm finishing the front end now and adding the engine peripherals working my way to the rear where I'm awaiting the F2/F3 swing arm. #$%*, this is slow BUT REWARDING!

I suspect your's is slightly more complicated though. Looking forward to watching Gladys kick some ass!

New builds always bring about unforeseen problems Jerry. I knew the chain alignment might be an issue because i had the fella that made the axle spacers center the wheel in the chassis for better side to side balance. Often times, the rear wheel is offset in a  big tire drag frame to get correct alignment in addition to the offset sprockets. Since the wife was going to be riding this one and its a car tire, i wanted to be certain it was balanced correctly. I'm just exercising my options with the sprocket spacer to get it right.

Good luck with your build. Its nice to know you're making progress as well.

You should see the debut of this bike in November with her riding. I'll make some passes prior to the event just to make certain everything is straight before i put her on to make an hits down the track. It'll be a learning curve for her. This bike is set up a lot different and will be noticebly quicker/faster. I've still spent a good bit of money on this project even utilizing parts i had laying around. Now you know why i didn't try to match ya'll contributions to the SOHC winners bonus. Lol.

Thanks to the rest of you for the nice comments and words of encouragement. I'll keep posting updates now that the ball is rolling once again.
Time slips coming soon- i hope.

Anyone want to take a guess at the ET and mph the bike will run?? Specs; 1500cc with Gpz head, 40mm intakes with 34mm exhaust valves, .507/.485 cammotion cams, Gpz-1,2,3 auto granny, slider clutch, 40mm Lectron cards,  big tube V&H pro stock replica pipe. KZ1000 conversion car tire chassis with 69"" wheelbase. 10" tire. Unsure of total bike weight.

Give it a stab fellas. Post your projected 1/8th mile and quarter mile ET and mph. I'll then post her first few time slips on here. No prizes awarded, just your personal satisfaction in guessing the correct numbers.

Okay, we've got a varied range of ETs from an optimistic 8.10 to a very conservative 9.8. Glad everyone is participating. Stay tuned. We'll have a real time number in a few weeks. Hopefully I can record the pass with the gopro.

You did state your wife is the rider, right? When was the last time she ran a pass?

She's been racing some this season on her small tire Kawasaki drag bike. Running in the pro ET class at the Man Cup like Keith mentioned. In fact she'll be on it tomorrow in competition at the IHRA div 2 bracket finals in Carolina Dragway. The small tire bike runs 9.20's@135-140mph.
