The ducati 916 was ground breaking, and it showed on the podium....... Not super reliable, but an amazing ride

Harley Evo....

I agree.
I brought a 1994 Road King when they first arrived in Australia.
SWMBO had given me an ultimatum.
If you don't get something more comfortable,  I'm not doing any more road trips, (READ) If you don't get something more comfortable YOUR not going on any more road trips. :o

I settled on the Road King because you could fit a box of beer and a bag of ice in each pannier.

I've still got the bike sitting in the shed.
It's got 175000K's on the clock and I haven't riden it in ten years.

Other than oil changes, tiers and batteries it hasn't cost me a cent.

If you don't stuff around with them, Evo's will go forever.  ;)

Cheers,
Brian

I am happy to hear that especially. On here.. And from Bear..
I dont have one, but have been around them a lot and was in the trade when they came out.
I had a brand new black and chrome 85 or 86 motor for a few years, did not get that bike going..

Quite simply put, I felt that too many people,  got too much use out of them.... To not be included on the list.  Love them or hate them.. They did do the job..

My wife didn't quite put it that way bit it was obvious that my cb750 F2 wasn't a touring bike which prompted me to get the 83 gl1100 I have. The GL was poorly maintained by its PO (READ he didn't do a thing to it and rode it till it quit) and was locked up from setting outside for 4 years when I got it but it runs fantastic now. One good thing about it is that I get to take the horrible looking his/hers seat off the F2 and put it's factory seat back on.

kawasaki gpz 750 turbo.

.that old 750 kawa engine...can take a turbo and still run a lot of km..the turbo vas ´the veak point not the engine..like the side mounted cam chain

The frame IS the weak point and Kawasaki knew it. That is why the GPZ Turbo frame has added gussets that still did not help much at all.

that's why I like the old Hondas, they make the right noise and feel faster than your going which satisfies that need for speed.

I can't say, I never owned one that new. Except the 1980 XS850 Yamaha and I'm not bragging on it yet, still haven't sorted out the carbs.

Harley Evo....

The engine that saved the company.  Harley gets a lot of guff, but I think much of that is due to modern HD riders rather than modern HD bikes.

Rc51 should be on the list

I'll second this. My RC51 had the sweetest engine I've ridden.
