Another car/motorcycle coming-together
« on: October 03, 2006, 06:31:24 PM »
This is what happens when a Honda hits a VW at very high speed. The bike rider ended up inside the car with the two occupants of the car. All three were killed.

To quote the write-up:

The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155 mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.

At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is traveling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have traveled over 363 feet (21 yards more than the length of a football field) while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken.

Yes, another 'car pulls out in front of motorcycle' accident. But at the speed the motorcycle was going, perhaps the car driver didn't even know he was coming.....

I've seen that pic before too, but having seen similar crashes first hand, I can't believe this accident was a "true" accident, and not a staged wreck.  IF there were 2 occupants in the car at the time of the accident, there isn't any passible way they could have removed the bodies without chopping the car to pieces and removing the cycle from the car first.  Secondly, if there was a rider on the bike, and you say he ended up IN the car?????  Hmmmmmm HOW?  Call me a skeptic, but, this pic does show how things can, and in fact do go wrong in the blink of an eye.
Ride safe, everyone.

Sorry about that, Hef.

If this was in fact a real accident, not a fake just to make a point (there goes that conspiracy thing again), maybe they just vacuumed the remains out?

And if it was a fake why did they have to use what looks like an RC45?

I prefer to carry my motorbikes on the trailer, rather than trying to stuff them inside the cab of my truck?

isn't that bike an rvf400????..

You are right, looking at the tail lights.

If it is a 'set-up' for display purposes they wouldn't destroy an expensive motorcycle like a RC45. I wonder how you would get the bike in there....drop it from a great height onto the car on its side? Launch it from a crash-test-dummy rig into the car??

No fells’a I had a cartoon of a guy whose head exploded while having a dump. But nobody complained to me just the mod’s ….that’s just an easy way out they could have just asked for it to removed and it would have been done …..Spineless people ….they only had to ask they’re parents to do it, not the mods......jeez do these people have a life? ;D

Saw that posted on another forum with a little more info. They pulled the bike out to extricate the bodies, but put it back to haul the whole lot around as a teaching tool on why motorcycles are dangerous.  ::)
