Topic: New bike options

Just wondering what you guys like.  It won't be a very soon purchase but narrowing things down.  I have had both a 97' YZF600R and an 01' YZF R6 and of course what I still have my 76' CB550F.  I really like the naked bike look which is pretty much the newer versions of the CB's.  I dont think my new purchase will be a race type bike as although I like them alot I've really come to enjoy the more upright feal of the CB550F.

Have it narrowed down to either the Speed Tripple or the CB 919.  Both are around the same price with similar numbres.  The new re-designed Triumph is awsome and can only imagine what it will look like in 3 years.  The honda is great too with an awsome CBR900RR motor in it.

I thought about considering a Thruxton and/or an SV650, if I was 6'12" maybe a new BMW GS. Mostly I think most new bikes are too ugly to mess up my driveway. Too many great used ones out there.

My uncle has a 02 Bonneville and its plain awsome.  I'm sure the Thruxton is just as awsome.  Style wise its hands down a great looking bike.  I have thought about that too.

This is probably not on your list, but the Buell Lightning and Lightning CityX have an awesome naked bike look.   And the sound... Well, the sound is awesome if you like the sound of a Harley V-Twin on a sport bike. I do

They are pretty cool.  You can almost think the new tripple stole the rear ends off them becuase of how chopped they are.

How new is new? I've been craving a "modern" motorcycle for a while now. I've always liked the Superhawks ('98 - '02?), but I think I'm going to look more seriously at an '87 or '88 VFR750.

Pretty sad when modern = only 16/17 years old!

I would second the VFR (but only a 750 - none of this modern 800 stuff!)

I very, very nearly bought an '86 Viffer but the 550K3 came up on eBay (UK) at the same time.  Oh well...

i would like another bike but instead of going more modern i am going older  i have been watching a couple of early 750's sohc of course and i have narrowed it down to wanting one from 70 to 73 and the going rate here in the uk seems to be around the £2750 mark    mick.
