Morning CB Lovers, Happy Holidays.
Ok so i bought a CBR1000 forks, and found out that they had several bends in them. I returned them to the store  and got store credit. I bought a GL1000 complete front end with wire wheel for $300. and the rear wire wheel for another $50. also i am porting the head will post pix later today looking really good. I am not removing much material, only smoothing walls to a smooth as glass finish. I have only 1 issue with the wire wheels of the GL. i want to run same size wheels and front one is a 19' inch wheel. what can I do.
here is a picture of the front.

FYI -- The stock wheel on the CB650 and the GL1000 is a 19".

The rear on the CB650 is a 17".

True, my q was i want the bike to sit even. On my 954RR my front is 16 rear 17 . But on CB its backward.  Also which clip ons to use? I noticed on the gl top tree bracket it has the bracket molded on it to bolt in the handle bar. Can i cut off or grind down?

If you want a smaller (18 or 17) front, you will need to buy a new rim and lace it to the GL hub.  Note: the GL wheel (unlike the CBs) uses an aluminum wheel so it is lighter.

As for the top triple for the GL, you can cut and grind down the bar mounts.  If so, it would be good to fill the material to add strength to the clamp.  Even easier, you can buy a billet top triple clamp to replace the ugly stock clamp.  http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-steering-parts-billet-aluminum-gl1000-top-triple-tree-12-2145.html  Dime city even offers mounts for the top triple to mount your instruments and key switch.

Any clip-ons with a 37mm diameter clip will work.  I would recommend against the Tarozzi riser clip-ons since they do not hold their position well.  You can go classic (Tarozzi non riser or various others) or modern (Woodcraft, Renthal, Vortex, etc).  If you go modern, I would recommend a name brand, as they offer replacement parts if you need them later.

hello , so i am almost done with the porting, i had to buy a new/used block since my stock one had a few cooler fins broken. however on the new used one the sleeves have these dents on the sleeves, on the original sleeves there is no marks like this. should I swap my sleeves into the new/used block, or use the ones it came with. also how to pull out the sleeves? I read somewhere to heat the block in oven to 200 deg F, and push out.
here is a picture of the new/used block sleeves

Yes, heat the block and push out the sleeves. You don't want to use any sleeves with chips in the edges.

You might want to try Dynoman for new OEM sleeves.

fire your oven up, wait for it to get up to temp, remove the o-rings on each cylinder, place block upright on your favourite baking dish and place lovingly into oven. crack a beer and wait to hear the block drop free of sleeves. reverse order for new sleeves.

will do thank you, so i finally found a rear wheel to match the front i am buying of a guy on here, here is a pix

i dont think they really look same though but it will work here is image of front wheel

the front one looks different color, its from a 78 GL. im going to be taking a part both wheels and cleaning, and PC the hub and put back together. also i found a rear set bracket from cognito moto. after talking to my friend he thinks that we can make that bracket and save me 80 dollars, he even said that we can make one with multiple holes for more adjustment. the only thing that I am stuck is the shifter linkage and brake. i found tons of universal rear sets that bolt to that bracket but no shifter linkage. is there a how to? i tried searching but no luck.
thank you guys for a feedback ur awesome... happy holidays

Happy New Year to all CB Lovers...
I have been pretty busy with the Holidays, but now its over I have done some work, I swapped the steering stem from the 650 to the GL, took apart front wheel so I can prep for paint hub. also thinking about drilling the rotors. also I have pulled out the piston sleeves out of the new piston case and about to install into the old one.
I have few questions about Rear sets. Can I use pretty much any rear sets for a cbr600/1000? I found a whole bunch on Ebay and other sites for different prices. I am bidding on this one, and wondering if I buy a set like this one how to connect to the transmission shifter shaft? I will buy rear set mounting brackets to mount em.

aren't both of those bikes a disc brake rear? If so, have you changed your rear hub to a disc from a drum? Maybe I'm not caught up with your build.... It looks like the second link is for a MC driven brake not a drum.

Ya no im not running a rear disc brake.  To change to a disc rear is really complucated since the frame is made for drum brake. To go to disc i have to run a different swing arm etc..
