 I noticed your posts on NGW Danny, I saw the gates belts at Rock Auto for around $16 each. Pretty good price, I'll check locally first, it's still got a 750 battery in it too.
 It's solid ice here today, it sounds like it is everywhere. I did a snow burnout on the wing yesterday. woohoo!

 I got the brake pedal and the rear M/C reconnected. The clevis bolt and cotter pin are gone but there is a chrome front brake lever bolt in it's place. It's double nutted so it appears to be safe to use. I got a good start bleeding the rear caliper too.

The points didn't cure the miss fire on the wing. It's not just skipping that cylinder, it's kicking back like a V8 with a pair of plug wires swapped, except just occasionally. Eventually it will do damage. I'm checking plug wires next to see if there's a wear spot or anything else causing a crossfire. Cam timing is up after that.

Have you checked valve clearances yet, it's an easy job on the wings. Maybe you have an intake valve too tight, burnt or bent causing the kick back. Check cylinder leak down after the valves are set.

 It was the valve clearances, almost no lash and #1 intake was tight. It missed one more time then a 1/2 miss and it hasn't done it since. I think there was carbon under the valve.

 The miss came back, I rode it a couple blocks, the rear bleeder was the wrong size, it appeared to thread in but didn't tighten. I threaded a bolt into it. It looks like mad max with the tank shelters, side covers and windshield off of it.  It rode well, turned easy, ran well through first gear, all the gears are there. So far, so good.

I used a bleeder for a 79 civic,  robbed a nice windshield off another jammer, my mechanic buddy suspects a sticky valve just from listening. Anyway, I warmed it up and it got smooth, took my wife for a short ride. She liked the floorboards feel but hates the look so they're coming off too. I asked her about titling and riding it, she has no objections. My rule is 2 plates and insurances, guess it may get bent. The two K0's are pretty special to me. If I have to choose the wing may loose.

After sitting most of the winter, it fired right up the other day but it was too cold to ride and I do not have legal tags.  However......................................

 I got the timing belts today and my almost 4 year old granddaughter helped me put them on. It was warm out and the doors were open. She was a good helper all afternoon and was asleep before her moms car was around the corner. The front brakes are still mushy. I'm starting to think I need to rebuild the M/C.

 I did the rubber bands on the lever, worked on my 76F on the wing it seems better, then it doesn't. I'm suspecting the M/C. Bud might have a kit in his toolbox. He won't miss it for a while will he?

 I put on the new pads, the calipers are clean inside, have new seals and the pistons are free from grooves or pits. I bled and bled etc, Still a soft front brake so I put on the master cyl. from a cb900c that's known to work. It was a bit brown inside so I flushed it and bled it first.  There may be air in the lines again so I'm bleeding them now.  I have a M/C kit on hold at my local (30 miles) shop. They had one in stock. It fits either M/C, the GL or cb900. If that doesn't work Stainless hoses are next. If that doesn't work it's going to the local parts breaker.
 Got the kit' put it on same chit. It's gotta be air. Right?

 I made it a few miles on the 4 lane highway, it hates bumps (I haven't serviced the forks yet) and is a little wobbly on the ramps. In all fairness I haven't checked the tires for a couple weeks and I think they have been sitting flat.  The engine sounds good and when I started it today it didn't miss at all. That's the trend I was hoping for. I'm thinking it's time to register it and plan on new tires. It sucks not being able to check the oil. I must have it overfilled because I can't see the level in the window. My brother put a JC Whitney dipstick on his 76. I think it screwed into the drain plug hole.

I had trouble seeing the oil level on my 78 and installed the dip stick. It's not the prettiest thing, but it works well and sure beats laying on the ground to check the oil.

I've told the tale a few times, most people find it hard to believe the guy just left the bike.  I used brake lines made by Slingshot, who advertises on this site.  The lines are of excellent quality.  Think I used them on my Silverwing.  Winter has finally broken so the frigid blues have gone away. ...Larry

 I ordered a set of Galfer twin stainless brake hoses to eliminate the splitter. I think i have enough parts to make the rear hose from cb750F1 left overs. If the lever isn't solid after this next up is a nissin master cyl.
