Are there any quick release fastener options for side covers?

Are there any quick release fasteners I can put on my side covers so I can have easy access to the fuse box and dipstick?

If they are tight, which is common. You can grease the tabs and o rings which make them much easier to remove. If you have some of the aftermarket that screw on you could get a different fastener.

Lubricate...........Yes...........but a petroleum-based grease or oil will eventually shrink the grommets and cause the side-covers to 'fly' away >:( >:( >:(

A little graphite may be better. :) :) :)

Order some new rubber grommets too. Makes a big difference and won't cost you much.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

As Old Scrambler is right on the mark! Having dealt with many o-rings and rubber gaskets in my years doing industrial elec. work I found that a silicone type lube is best. If you have access to Lowes's or Home Depot type DIY stores they usually stock them.
