Thanks. They are from my K7--briefly used but pretty much in mint condition incl. the complete tank. I am selling too--but not giving away. :)

These parts are new (well, they were last year). The blue stripe gives it away as a K8 tank.

For the K7/K8 you only had the choice between this "red" and "black." Black was less desirable although you wouldn't believe it looking at the price tag of this K7/K8 tank: http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb750k-750-four-k-1978-usa_model7244/tank-assy-nh-1_17520405770zb/
The 550, that year, had the same color choices, I believe.

I'm with you mate.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Hey Wobbly,

That Candy Alpha Red is seriously NICE!

I think my favorite stock CB550 color is the Candy Garnett Brown.
It was different and just happens to be the 1976 color.
Once i'm done with my CB750 K6 build and then a 76 GL1000 build I'm thinking of looking for a 76 CB550 in Brown.

Eric,
Those are 2 Seriously NICE bikes!!!!!!!
If I were ready for the 550 I would be paying you a visit!!!!!!! :))
Just one question about the 550.  What is the manufacture date????
Reason I'm asking is that my cb750 K6 and my GL-1000 both have a manufacture date of 8/75.
So, when I start looking for a 550 it would be cool to have one manufactured in 8/75.

Charlie - don't let Eric tease you, he doesn't sell. The bikes are his IRA, and he's nowhere near retiring from picking bikes!

Stev-O

I figured that out a while ago.  :))
I'm still curious about the Manufacture Dates.
I don't even know if there were any CB550's with a manufacture date of 8/75 and would like to have some idea if there are any out there with that date.  :)

With that said, I'm going out to the garage and rebuild my front master cylinder.
Need a mental health break!

Whether you're talking about a cb550 or a cb500... I think my favorite color pretty much has to be... blonde.

;-)
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.
