Would not hurt to take it out and clean it.   It can be just stuck or the wire has broken insulation and grounds itself.

its an easy clean.
might even just be corrosion/roadgrime at the connection and not needing to come out.
Left side of the engine, underneath.  you'll see a wire attached by a small JIS screw on the lower case.
remove the screw, clean the wire connector, and the location it screws into.
might just do it.

Disconnect the wire from the switch; if the light stays on, the problem is not with the switch.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Have you messed with any of the wiring inside your headlight bucket?

Hi all
I think the wiring is ok as the light goes out in first gear ,but stays on through  N 2 3 4 5
I saw in the good photos that there is an o ring for the switch. My one is leaking a little bit maybe good to replace.

pull the unit.  clean it, and hook the wire too it.  key on.
ground it against the engine.  N light should be on
depress the ball, light should go off.
