A few of my Kawasaki's
« on: February 14, 2015, 09:04:49 AM »
Hello, I thought I would show you some of my Kawasaki's since I am a Kawasaki guy. The first Kawasaki I restored about a year and a half ago is this 1966 B8 125. I found it in a barn as a beat up rusty mess and I think it turned out nice. It was in the 2014 Nov. Dec. issue of Motorcycle Classics Magazine, here is the online article.
http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-japanese-motorcycles/classic-kawasaki-motorcycles/kawasaki-b8-zmwz14ndzkel.aspx#axzz3GavwqNnG
Here is a link to the full restoration on another forum I'm on.
http://www.kawasakitriplesuk.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=5271

Here is the H2 I restored last year.

Here is a link to the full restoration.
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1634116_I_finished_my_1972_Kawasaki_H2_750_restoration.html

I'm restoring my 1973 Z1 right now, I'm about half way through.

I'm done with the engine.

Here is my 1974 Z1A, it's just a rider.

My 1976 LTD, still runs very strong(28mm carbs, light porting and polishing and the Kerker)

Here is my stash, biding their time waiting for their turn in the shop.

2 1969 500 H1's
2 1972 500 H1B's
1975 500 H1F
1972 S2 350
1973 S2A 350
1975 S3A 400
And the spare 1972 H2 750(it's the farthest one in the roughest shape).

Here is a 1973 Norton Commando I did last fall for a friend of mine.

And a Honda CT70 pit bike I built for him with a 150 engine in it.

And a 1976 Harley SS175 That I am restoring now for my same friend.
Before:

Now:

Well, that takes care of me and my Kawasaki problem. I look forward to spending some time with you guys. :D

I'm envious.  :(
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Definitely have a large hoard of triples there....nice work as well. You guys in the states don't know how lucky you are to have such an availability of these older bikes....

Have you and Rick Brett crossed paths yet. I have bumped into him a few times up in Northern Michigan where he is based when in the US.  Very nice collection !!

That is a fine looking H2, but wouldn't give the ranch for it, the wife would shoot me!

Plus, I prefer more of a project bike, think I'll just sell a couple of these CB's that aren't getting ridden.

GUTS - you painted the body set yourself?

And you post an H2 build on an AR15 forum......ha!

I have a friend with a body shop and I can use the booth once in a while. I am going to use a white pearl basecoat on the next one instead of a silver-white pearl, I think it will be closer to correct. I've been on ARFCOM forever, I'm a gun collector too. When I posted the restoration on there it led me to my K1!

I'm putting an H2 back on the road now, and a Z1 is on deck. Definitely have enjoyed working in the Hondas, but I am enjoying the H2 a lot too. Thanks for posting these pics.

Ok lads!

This is the beast.

And here's a gallery with more photos:

http://noblehops.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/The-NotRestoration-of-a-1975-H/i-zhBfcmS

It's a 75, a faux Cobra according to the PO. It's rougher than it looks in that photo: brakes stuck, steering head bearing shot, tank rusty, carbs gummed up. All of that is now remedied as I work my way through it, and the fork is rebuilt with new seals and oil too. Just put an all new repro intake on it too, airbox, filter, manifold, clamps. Still need to check out the rear wheel and swingarm, test and fix any electrical issues, and soon it will be time to try and fire it up.

I am simultaneously looking forward to and dreading that moment, to be perfectly frank, because if it starts and runs well, I'll have to ride it :-).

If it's been a few years since it has run you may need crank seals, very critical to the triples health. I would like to have it that is for sure!

Ya, it's tired, was "put away wet", but I'm trying to not get carried away, just for once. What I REALLY want to do is restore this Z1. And get carried away :-)

That looks to be in fairly good cond, much better than the H2.  You plan to go back to stock?
