1978 cb550 - No tach question

I just bought a 1978 cb550 and the PO removed the tach and went with a sleeker speedometer only look. That said, for you 550 owners, when are you generally/ideally changing gears?

550s are meant to be riding at higher rpms. Don't pussy footing it. I shift around 4500-5k on easy riding.
