Did a full rebuild on my 75 cb550.
600cc kit.
Full deal and a full tear down.
Runs great. Revs great. Went for the first ride around the block and the shifter is super tight. Shifting through gears is a challenge. Seemed much smoother before the engine went in the bike.
Came to a stop sign a block away and when I downshifted the rear wheel locked up. I after some moving around I got it unstuck but it happened again about 50 feet later. Thought it might have been a rear brake issue but definitely not.
I can roll the bike with the clutch in.
Pulled the oil pan and of course found some metal
Shavings. No broken teeth just some small shavings. It looks like the main chain is rubbing against the case, has a lot of play and seems like it's binding up.
Any ideas on why would be appreciated.
