Bleed Valve

Does this grey stuff been to come off or just drive the valve in with it on I'm a bit nervous that it seem like it's going to cross thread the caliper

...looks like pre-applied thread sealant...if your threads are good and you got the bleeder started straight, go a head and tighten it up
If it works good, it looks good...

Mine's the same. It's just some sealant. Just be aware that it probably will bottom out with some threads showing. That's normal. No need to go nuts and crank on it.
