Broken lock tab in carb -cb500
« on: May 17, 2015, 01:29:02 PM »
Was adjusting the needle hight on the carb bank and I was just finishing up when I broke that little locking tab that holds the screw in place at the top of the slide. Is this thing necessary? Should I just lock-tite it?

Any help is appreciated.  8)

It will probably be all right.

On another note, that tang and screw is completely unnecessary to access/change the needle clip.  The two screws at the bottom of the assy connect it to the slide.

Can you access those screws while the carbs are mounted to the bike? Good point though, I'll have to try it. Thanks ;D

Well its at least a short cut for carb 1 and 4, I don't think 2-3 will have enough room.
