M unit issue
« on: June 27, 2017, 06:27:57 PM »
I installed the m unit on a cafe build I am finishing up.  The key turns the bike on, everything works as it's supposed to including turn signals brake lights hi Lo beam kill switch etc (only thing not installed is a horn). However, when I turn the key off, the hazards come on.  So frustrating but I cannot figure out why they come on.

By "coming on," do you mean they momentarily flash or remain on?  Cal is probably the best person to ask, but the Revival Cycle videos show the hazards flashing to indicate the power to the unit turning off and the alarm being armed.

They remain on and the alarm is deactivated.

I got CalJ's attention in another chat so maybe he can help me.  The motogadget support guy is stumped right now.

Likely a ground circuit issue or you are seeing back feed into the ground lighting your hazards.  Finding where that voltage is coming from and you will solve your problem. I would start disconnecting outputs ( not the turns or hazards of course) to isolate the circuit providing power.  I would look at the ignition switch and verify it is wired correctly as well as is not defective. If an Emgo switch that can happen fresh out of the box I have heard.

A test light can help you find your issue.

Bonkey - in addition to the list I send via PM, please take a voltage reading with the bike off, directly from the battery. And again from AUX with the key ON.

And lastly, go back and re-configure the handlebar controls through the MENU now that you've moved your KILL wire from CONFIG.

Mine did some weird things after I got everything wired up as well and the handlebar configuration was exactly what I had done incorrectly.
