What's the best way to replace oil lines?
« on: July 13, 2015, 04:04:53 PM »
One of the braided oil lines on my 78 750K has a fairly slow leak and needs to be replaced.

I've searched the boards and didn't come up with anything solid and looking online I see a couple on Ebay that're available and I see Carpy has some SS lines for like $75 but you're supposed to use the fittings off your own lines.

My question is what have you guys done when you needed to replace them? Is it tough removing the fittings and recrimping them on a new line? If not what size line would I need to get?

Earls has some black braid hose. I've been wondering about using that. Some guys have found hydraulic shops that will re make the hoses. Not all of them will do it. I think cycleX has some fittings for braided hose too.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
