1976 CB550f - Missing Case Bolt Question
« on: September 04, 2015, 11:23:52 AM »
So i have a question...Can i remove the bolt that holds the cam chain tensioner? I just got done with a 2 month project including motor rebuild and last thing i want to do is pull motor back out because of something stupid. The motor from the start was missing some case bolts and when i put everything back together i forgot one (Of course its one under cam chain tensioner bolt that you cant just put in). I will attach a picture of a cb550 motor that i found on the internet to help point out what i'm talking about.

I don't see any problem with taking that bolt out. The cam chain is still being held in place by the tensioner nut and it's tension from the chain. I'll say it's no problem if you need to remove it just to put that other head bolt in there.

I dig the black. Will be doing that to my 650 when I assemble it.
