71-73 b500 wiring harness difference?

i have a 73 cb500 that the previous owner hacked all up especially the wiring so found a 71wiring harness from somebody on here and it doesn't seem to match.
was wondering if anybody could tell me what the major difference is between them and if I'm going to be able to use the 71 harness?

 One of the biggest differences is the plug for the alternator. There's nothing you shouldn't be able to overcome with a good full color wiring diagram and some time.

It seems like all the differences in finding are just crazy things the previous owner had done.
