Topic: Mikuni 29 mm smoothbore fitments on cb750

Hi,
I know at one time there were special boots made for this fitment....are they still available?.....or is there a workaround?

Z1 Enterprises sold them but last I checked they were out of stock with no delivery date. Said to call for more information. I haven't called myself.

I just bot a set from Z1, $149.95. Took about 3 weeks delivery. Mine were old and cracked. Wanted a fresh set. HE doesn't keep them on hand, will special order if the money's up front.

As a user, I think VM29 is a little fat for 736cc displacement. Maybe consider VM26.   Any way I've got mine on a 889cc engine, had them n a previos 839cc engine, liked them very much. JEff (Z!1) is helping me tune this aplication btter than the first application.

Not to me they weren't, just a phone call, credit card and 3 weeks away.  I think DynoMan carries them too. I did not call them as I like Z1.

Should work great on an 836cc.

Thanks for the feedback on the Z1 availability. I'm going to call next week to put my order in. McRider, I assume the boot configuration allowed for a direct fit for the carburetor  racked for a kz and Gs and not standard 750 spacing??

Ooh Thats a good question. Mine are racked for the CB750, and I think that's different than the KZ and GS. Jeff will know.

You can get the rubbers Frank, My VM29 smoothies have the stock Kawasaki spacing but the manifolds I have allow them to be fitted to a 750 Honda, I had old CR31mm with ticklers spaced for the Kawasaki/GS1000 and they fitted the 750 with the correct manifolds, I'm sure someone still sells them...

I've got several sets of Mikuni flatslides racked for kz's and a set of Cr33's. I sure would like to use them on a SOHC.

I've actually got 2 sets of the manifolds that mate up the Kawasaki/GS carbs to the Honda, I am keeping them just in case i need odd manifolds for non stock carbs... I wonder if the manifolds would fit the bigger 33's and Mikuni flat slides, you may have to buy some to find out....

As long as the spacing is correct, I can use a drum roll sander on my drill to open the boots up to the proper diameter for the bigger carbs. That's what I had to do with the stock f model boots on the bike now.
