WI Deer Hunt 2015
« on: November 25, 2015, 08:30:35 AM »
Well, it took me 34 years to get a buck I could take to the taxidermist for a shoulder mount. 10 points with 16 1/4 inch spread. Not a huge Boone and Crocket mount, but nice for my area.

Pretty deer, Johnnie! With a slug, no less.

We tend to grow them a bit bigger down here in the south though...
Taken a few weeks ago with a bow. My buddy and his first buck from VA:

This what we call a "Peanut Buck". Taken in a agriculture area just a bit south, fed on fresh peanuts:

A few of mine through the years, all taken with a compound:

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. I wish I seen Cal's monsters before I posted mine  ;D

I do european mount for every antlered deer I kill - just boil the head, clean it, use some peroxide to bleach it whiter and mount on a piece of hardwood.

You deer hunters ROCK!  That's a good start.....go get 'em!  8)
Meeting one of those stupid "hooved rodents" on the road while riding is enough to make you soil yourself.  :-\

I killed 4 pointer on my K0 few years back. Lucky enough, only cost me spark plug, spark plug cap and a headlight.
